CBMAI
The Brazilian Collection of Microorganisms from Environment and Industry - CBMAI, located at CPQBA/UNICAMP, offers the scientific and industrial community a diverse collection of microbial strains (bacteria, filamentous fungi, and yeasts) for applications in research, testing, and assays.
The CBMAI team also has experience in the isolation, counting, taxonomic characterization, and identification of microorganisms of environmental origin, raw materials, and industrial contaminants. Molecular methods such as fingerprinting, DNA sequencing, and phylogenetic studies, which allow for the rapid identification of fungi and bacteria, are complemented by conventional characterization methods. In addition, large-scale DNA sequencing is also employed for studies of applied microbiology, microbial ecology, and microorganism genomes.
